International smart fans flocked to the Spanish town of Salou to celebrate the progressive car brand and their own community with music and thousands of bright, bold, and beautiful smart models. Check out the best impressions of smart times 2017.
When smart fans come together, it’s always time to celebrate: the brand’s creativity and pioneering spirit as well as lasting friendship and unbridled joie de vivre.
Sizzling temperatures and bright sunshine at the Spanish Costa Dorada turned this year’s smart times fan festival into a dream come true, attracting almost 3,000 participants from 32 nations to this prime vacation spot near Barcelona for one activity-packed weekend mid-June.
Beyond the event’s eclectic entertainment and music line-up, it was the many extraordinary smart models dotting the palm tree-lined promenade that drew the crowd’s collective attention. Standout stars and ahead of the pack: the new smart electric drive, introduced by smart CEO Dr. Annette Winkler herself, as well as the bright yellow concept car smart BRABUS forrescue – a snazzy lifeguard vehicle complete with surfboard and floating devices, based on the smart forfour edition crosstown.
With two further milestones – and 15th anniversaries – to celebrate, the festival certainly didn’t lack excitement: Fans cheered the long-lasting collaboration between smart and BRABUS as well as a true classic, the smart crossblade concept car. With its stripped-down beach buggy chassis, the window-, roof-, and door-less model looked surprisingly modern – and simply perfect for Gold Coast seaside adventures.
