house of smart.
Escape. Connect. Recharge.

If you were in Austin this March, you had the chance to have your mind charged, changed (and bent) at the house of smart. The brand hosted a pop-up filled with inspiring talks, live demos, gigs, multisensory experiences – and plenty of space to process all those avant-garde ideas.

Every year, global music lovers, film fans, tech heads, and futurists make their way to South by Southwest – a conference and festival that celebrates the convergence of film, music, and interactive industries.

It’s a great time and place to get inspired, so smart hosted its own, separate hub and oasis as a place to escape, connect, and recharge, but also to tickle those neurons with new inspiration.

At the house of smart – in Waller Ballroom on 6th Street – the brand invited visitors to meet like-minded souls and process new impressions in a cool, calm, and collected atmosphere (with catering and a clever sound/light installation) or to take their pick from around 15 interactive sessions featuring landmark speakers like Cory Richards or Head of smart Dr. Annette Winkler.

The four different days were themed: From Refreshing Insights to expand your horizon and Creative Mindfulness as a way to refocus in our interconnected world to Urban Trends, throwing a spotlight on novel, city-specific solutions and, finally, issues around our Sustainable Future.

The house of smart offered an electrifying blend of talks and workshops – in addition to unforgettable live performances by Stranger Things composers and local icons
S U R V I V E and other sonic explorers.

To arrive in style, visitors made use of the free smart electric drive shuttle service or got behind the wheel themselves to test one of the popular smart fortwo cabrio models.
