It was a little over a year ago, walking through the strip district of Pittsburgh with a friend of mine, when she pointed out Polish Hill – a giant green hillside right next to a bustling line-up of vendors that has been around for decades. The moment I saw it, I fell in love with that hillside because it represents so much of why I moved to this city. While renaissances come and go, and the population grows increasingly dense, you simply cannot escape the city’s hills and geography. Here, the middle of nowhere is always just a stone’s throw away.
