We love the city and its urban vibe. It’s where we live and meet our friends; it’s where we are productive and creative. But come Friday afternoon, we close our laptops, ready to leave it all behind. For a microadventure in unspoiled nature. The perfect wheels for the occasion: the smart forfour edition crosstown.
A weekend bag and hiking boots, a tent, camping stove, and pocket knife – that’s all we need for a microadventure in the city’s surroundings. The plan: just get into the car and drive – until our smartphones run out of cell reception.
Out of Office x smart forfour edition crosstown
Katharina and Henryk Berlet are stalwarts of Berlin’s thriving media scene. Meetings and screens dominate their day-to-day routines. Yet the PR expert and graphic designer also find time to pour their passion into Out of Office (OOOYeah), a blog that documents their shared travel adventures. And they know how to tickle our wanderlust genes with impressive photo spreads of wild, natural landscapes. From rough coastlines on the Faroe Islands to glorious Saharan desert bliss – Katharina and Henryk obviously get around quite a bit.
At the same time, Henryk is keen to point out that “an adventure doesn’t require you to fly thousands of kilometers. It starts where your comfort zone ends.”
A microadventure on Berlin’s outskirts
For our film “the berlin microadventure“, the two outdoor bloggers decided to put the new smart forfour edition crosstown through its paces and swap the daily grind for a quick weekend break, just a few miles outside the city limits. Dotted with dreamy lakes and deep, dense forests, Brandenburg’s nature and landscape proved the perfect setting and scenery for such a brief microadventure.
Join Katharina and Henryk on their microadventure. Watch the film here.
