Any aficionado of contemporary product design surely has June 5-9 marked off in their calendar. Over these five days, the eleventh DMY International Design Festival Berlin will fill the enormous former Tempelhof Airport with all ranks of product designers—each with a progressive prototype, product or vision. The expansive exhibition is accompanied by a full program of symposia, designer talks and workshops reflecting the current concerns of contemporary design and discussing trends emerging on the horizon. And in true Berlin fashion, the event will loosen up for some parties.
This year, Poland will be DMY’s guest country. In cooperation with the Polish Institute Berlin, the showcase will look at the blossoming design scene in Germany’s second largest neighbor. Over 40 design studios, companies, and design schools, beside a host of comprehensive exhibitions, will highlight the rise of this new design hub.
